A Cooler View On The Koran

A good part of writing publicly is the fact that friends and readers send related matters of interest.

My commentary of Terry Jones of Gainesville is not exception.  Today a friend sent me this Forbes article below on the London based, Pakistani Muslim Scholar Mohammed Al Qadri.

In addition to being the first major scholar to publish a fatwa against terrorism,

Al Qadri founded Minhaj-ul-Quran, an international organization promoting moderation which claims to have over a million followers. He hit the headlines earlier this year after holding an anti-terrorism summer camp in England, teaching 1,300 young Muslims how to argue against extremists, and in March for issuing what's thought to be the world's first fatwa against terrorism. (He'll be republishing the 600-page treatise in a few weeks time.)

I'm sure we all agree that leaders such as Al Qadri should be better known than trouble makers like Jones of Gainesville.  Just what the cure for how media functions is still a hard one to solve, but I do pray we find that solution.  So often media behavior actually contributes to death and social breakdown when done without reflection.
